Marmorierte Weihnachtskugeln selbst gestalten: Ein kreatives DIY für die festliche Saison
Step 1: Make preparations
Before you start marbling, you should protect your work area with a handicraft mat. This will prevent paint or water from damaging your surface. This preparatory work will save you a lot of time later when cleaning and tidying up.
Step 2: Prepare the Christmas balls
Take some Christmas balls and carefully plugs a bamboo skewer into the loop. With the help of the bamboo skewer, you can easily dip the baubles into the water and, after marbling, place them in flower arrangement foam to dry.
Step 3: Preparations: for marbling
For marbling, you will need an old container that is large enough to dip the baubles in. An unused bucket is ideal for this. Make sure that you use a container that will no longer be used, as it will be difficult to remove any colour residue later.
Step 4: Fill with water and prepare the colours
Fill your container with cold tap water. Shake the colours for marbling vigorously so that the colour pigments are well distributed. Then add a few drops of the desired colours to the surface of the water. The colours for marbling float on the water and do not spread.
Tip:
Don't use too many different colours so that the end result doesn't look too unruly.
Step 5: Draw in the pattern
Now you can draw patterns in the colours with the bamboo skewer: Lines, waves or curls. Be creative and try out different patterns until you like the design.
Step 6: Marbling the Christmas balls
Carefully dip the baubles into the pattern on the surface of the water and pull them out again immediately. Plug the bamboo skewer with the bauble into the flower arrangement foam so that the colour can dry.
Tip:
You can immerse the ball completely or only partially to create unique effects.
Step 7: New patterns and colour effects
Would you like to try out a new pattern or a different colour effect? You can remove the colour residue from the surface of the water by dragging a piece of paper through the water. Then add new drops of colour to the water and draw a fresh pattern with the bamboo skewer.
Step 8: Personalise baubles with Cricut
If you want to personalise your baubles, open the Cricut Design Space program on your PC or tablet and create lettering as desired. Plot out the lettering according to the programme's instructions. Remove the excess film, position the transfer film on top, peel off the lettering and place it on the baubles.
