Print and transfer templates
You can easily recreate the artwork shown by printing out the templates and cutting them out roughly. Place the cut-out templates on the stretched canvas and carefully trace the contours with a pencil. Make sure you only draw delicate lines to make it easier to cover over later.
Alternatively, you can also create your own wavy look. Draw these delicately too.
Apply structure paste
Take a spatula and apply a thin layer of structure paste to the traced motifs. It is only necessary to cover the stretcher frame surface with filler to such an extent that the stretcher frame structure no longer shows through. For an even and visually appealing texture, dab over the colour paste with a stippling brush. The structure paste needs approx. 24 hours to dry through; however, you can proceed to the next step after approx. one hour.
