Starting school is always an exciting time for young and old alike. In addition to the question of the school bag and the satchel, nice decorations and small gifts are always in great demand. So why not simply give them a medal for their first day at school?
You start by cutting your Paper or cardboard into strips. The length and width of the strips will later determine the size of your paper rosettes.

If you are using large sheets, one long strip is enough, for example. For A4-sized material, you will need 2 strips. If you have even shorter strips, you will need to work with 3 or more. The width of your strips determines the later diameter of the rosette. If you have strips that are 4 cm wide, your rosette will have a diameter of at least 8 cm.
Then fold your strips in a zigzag pattern. You can vary the spacing. However, they should of course remain the same for each rosette. The wider the spacing, the higher your rosette will be later.

Glue your folded strips together to form a ring. Depending on the number of paper strips , this will consist of either one or several pieces.
Then press this ring flat onto your work surface and stick on a circle of Paper or cardboard to keep the rosette in shape.

For optimum hold, you should glue a circle to the front and bottom. It's best to start on the back, as it won't be quite so noticeable if it doesn't stick in the middle. You will then have a little more stability for the front.

A little tip:
For gluing, you can also use hot glue instead of handicraft glue , as it holds the rosette together more quickly. But the disadvantage is that you can no longer adjust and shape the rosette.

You can close the center completely or leave it slightly open. This also varies the diameter of the rosette.

Your undecorated products is now finished and can be designed using stamps and various extensions from Paper . You can also incorporate special shapes with the help of punches.
Once you have finished designing your actual rosette, you can also attach ribbons to the back. Finally, attach the pins using the hot glue (in this case, this one is better than the handicraft glue one).

Your school enrolment medals are now ready for use and the big day can begin!
Have fun making your own!
