Many great things can be made from handmade paper. These decorative embroidery rings were covered with handmade paper and then decorated with dried flowers, pressed blossoms and paper tags. A beautiful decoration for your home.

Paper making - this is how it works:

1. Tear waste paper such as newspaper or printed copy paper into small pieces and cover them with warm water in a bowl. Leave to soak for at least 1 hour.

2. Blend the soaked paper with a hand mixer to a smooth paste, add chalk powder and cotton cellulose and mix well. (For 5 pages of newsprint, use about 10 tablespoons of cotton cellulose and/or chalk powder).

3. Take a large tub in which the paper scoop frame fits well and can also be swivelled. Fill it with water to a height of approx. 10-15 cm, add the paper mixture and mix it all together.

4. Immerse the paper scoop frame, move it slightly back and forth and lift it slowly and straight up out of the water. The frame should drip over the tub for a few minutes.

5. Lay out 2x felt on a table.

6. Remove the outer wooden frame of the scoop frame and carefully place a piece felt on the wet paper. Then turn the whole thing over onto the felt and loosen the screen of the scoop frame.

7. Now place the second felt on the paper and roll everything well with the help of a rolling pin or a bottle.

8. Remove the top felt and leave to dry for several days.

9. After the drying time, the paper can easily be coloured as desired. Simply mix a few drops of colour concentrate in water and dab onto the paper with a sponge. Allow to dry.

Decorating - almost done:

1. Carefully clamp the dried paper into the embroidery hoops.

2. Stick the pressed flowers onto the paper with napkin varnish. Apply a thin layer of varnish, glue the flowers on top and coat again with napkin varnish.

3. Make a small bouquet from the dried flowers and fix it with hot glue.

4. Cut different sized tags from kraft paper, write on them with markers.

5. Punch two holes in each tag with a hole punch.

6. Place the tags on the frames and draw marks on the paper through the holes.

7. Poke holes through the marks with a needle, place the tags on top and secure with clips.
