This is how the cute birds are felted:
These birds are made from styrofoam eggs that are felted around. This gives the birds their shape and you need much less felting wool by using the styrofoam eggs.
The birds are made using the dry felting technique. First take a styrofoam egg. Place the desired fairy wool on the polystyrene ball and pierce it with the felting needle until the materials have joined. Felt the birds with the dot details in this way.
Transfer the pattern to the craft felt and cut out the body parts. Cut a length of ribbon the length you want the bird's legs to be. Attach the feet to each end of the ribbon and add a small wooden bead to each as a knee. Glue the ribbon to the centre of the wooden board.
Glue the wiggly eyes and feathers to the chickens with craft glue. Attach the comb, beak and wattles to the chicken with the felting needle. Glue the chicken to the board with craft glue.
