Cut about 4 metres of the cotton cord. This length is sufficient if you only want to knot half way round the wooden ring. If you want to knot the ring completely, you should use about 8 metres of ribbon.

Step 2: Double the ribbon

Double the ribbon by bringing the two ends together. This makes it easier to knot and ensures an even structure.

Step 3: Create a spiral knot
