Casting memo holders

A birth or baptism is always a great occasion to make something very personal for the parents or the child. With name and date of birth unique memorabilia are created.

Mix the casting powder with water according to the package instructions. For one large and one small cloud you need approx. 345 ml casting powder. If you wish you can add a few drops of from VBS Colour Concentrate which you must stir well into the mixture. Fill the casting compound into the mould, lift it up and tap it lightly on the base to let all air bubbles rise out of the compound. After about 30 minutes drying time you can carefully remove the casting from the mould. The complete drying time is 2-3 days. Only then should the moulds be further processed. In order to get smooth edges, you can finish them with Sandpaper clean up

Now the clouds can be decorated and labeled with markers. If you want to turn the clouds into a memo holder, drill small holes into the top of the mould with a hand drill. The holders are then marked with Handicraft glue fixed in the holes.

You want to use a cloud as Tealight holders? Fit the candle nozzle on the open side with a double-sided one and Adhesive tape press it upside down into the mould before pouring. This Adhesive tape prevents the candle spout from slipping when pouring the casting compound. Stir some casting powder with water again, add Colour Concentrate and fill everything into the mould. Let everything dry completely

For the "knitting cord" as decoration around the candle, form four FIMOlong snakes from soft. Turn two of them to the left to form one Cord and the other two to the right. Put both together to form a knitting pattern. The knitting cord is placed around the tealight insert and formed into a circle. Then the cord is hardened in the oven at 110 degrees for 30 minutes. After cooling down the wreath can be decorated with some Handicraft glue around the tealight spout.
