Advent snowy path

This self-made Advent path is a decorative alternative to the conventional Advent calendar. Every day the snowman may move one snowflake further until he arrives on Christmas Eve just in time for Christmas on the Christmas tree.

This is how the tray becomes an "ice rink"

In the VBS tray with plexiglass pull-out, the bottom and the plexiglass pane can be removed. Take these 3 parts of the tray apart.

Paint the frame in white, the tray bottom in sea green. Remove the protective films from the Plexiglas pane and push all parts of the tray back together.

Miniatures and snowman

Now paint the small miniatures and scatter parts. The snowflakes get a coat of white, silver and glitter, the seat of the sleigh blue-green color.

For the snowman, paint the figure cone white. Drill small holes in the figure for the arms and hair. Shape them out of wire and attach them in the holes with craft glue. Paint the face and heads on the snowman and decorate it with a scarf made from a strip of felt.

Arranging an Advent path

First, loosely place the snowflakes as Advent path and the other decorative elements on the tray. If everything lies as desired, fix all the snowflakes except the 6th and the 24th with craft glue on the plexiglass.

St. Nicholas Day and Christmas Eve should be particularly highlighted. So that the snowflakes for these days lie elevated, simply spatula some decorative snow in the appropriate places and press each corresponding snowflake lightly into the mound of snow thus modeled.

Extra Tip:
To make the fir tree and the last snowflake lie especially high, simply cut a Styrofoam ball in half and glue it to the plate, then cover it with decorative snow. Decorate the fir tree and the rubber boots with small stars, and the boots with a very small fir tree. Press the miniatures into the decorative snow while it is still wet. They will be well fixed in this way.

Decorate other surfaces of the tray with the decorative snow, place and fix with it also the sleigh.

Glue small decorative stars to the outside of the tray and place the snowman on the first star. Now the Advent season can begin!
